I have a history of hypertension, but during my pregnancy my blood pressure did not need medication to be controlled. I delivered 8 days ago and my blood pressure is now back to pre pregnancy levels, and to go back on medication. Pre pregnancy I took 25 mg of metoprolol er once a day. Is this a safe option to return to, or would labetalol be preffered. With my last pregnancy I was put on labetalol after delivery, but metoprolol seems to control my blood pressure better. Basically is one safer than the other as far as risk to my infant?
